Phoenix, AZ

The globe is currently at an inflection point in identifying and understanding the real-world implications of the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI) landscape. Ipsos’ Alec Tyson joins a panel discussion at the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting sharing insights into how the public is grappling with this emerging technology and its role in society, elevating key trends in public trust and confidence.

AI Attitudes: Public and Expert Views on AI’s Societal and Ethical Implications

Hear findings from more than a dozen surveys conducted over the past five years on public attitudes and expectations about AI: Where does the public see promise? What factors shape their concerns? How comfortable are they with the increased use of AI in their own lives? They will share takeaways from a path-breaking survey of 1,013 AI experts. This discussion will highlight the views and experiences of those who have first-hand insights working in AI and related fields and how their outlook compares with that of the general public. Drawing on themes from deep engagement with responsible technology, data justice, and trust in scientists, this discussion will offer reflections on the ethical considerations that shape conversations around AI adoption and use.
