Bob Torongo named as Executive Vice President, Ipsos Public Affairs

Torongo, an accomplished researcher and authority on survey design, has conducted influential research for key clients since joining Ipsos.

New York, May 3, 2023 – Ipsos, one of the largest market research and polling companies globally, today announced that Bob Torongo has been promoted to the title of Executive Vice President at Ipsos Public Affairs.

Torongo, an accomplished researcher and authority on survey design, has conducted influential research for key clients since joining Ipsos Public Affairs as a Senior Vice President in 2018. In this new role, he will continue to leverage Ipsos’ best-in-class polling capabilities, with a focus on bringing impactful solutions to decision-makers in the government, non-profit, and academic sectors.

With more than two decades of academic and professional experience, Torongo is established as an expert on polling and policy research. Before joining Ipsos (through its acquisition of GfK in 2018), he was a Senior Manager in the Advisory Analytics Group at Deloitte. Prior to that that, he served as Director of Analytics at the Gallup Organization. Torongo began his career in 2001 as an economist on the Consumer Price Index survey at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Torongo is an active member of several industry and academic research organizations. He has published numerous papers on statistical modelling and research methods, and since 2018, has taught as an adjunct professor at John Hopkins University. He also currently serves as Associate Communications Chair of the American Association of Public Opinion Research, and as a member of the Insights Association and the Insights Association Government Affairs Committee.
