The Path to Techquity

Ipsos partnered with the HLTH Foundation to shine a light on existing health tech-related inequities in the U.S. and identify opportunities for the industry to address techquity gaps.

Path to Techquity Cover

The growing partnership between healthcare and technology holds huge promise, but it also highlights rising concerns around ‘techquity’: the design and deployment of healthcare technology in a way that is equitable and inclusive. Against this backdrop, Ipsos partnered with the HLTH Foundation – a non-profit that promotes equity, inclusion and opportunity in healthcare – to shine a light on existing health tech-related inequities in the U.S. and identify opportunities for the industry to address techquity gaps.

The resulting report, “The Path to Techquity”, summarizes our industry- and patient-level research and includes expert perspectives from healthcare and technology leaders. It is intended to serve as a call-to-action for industry organizations and leaders. The report also introduces the Industry Techquity benchmark survey, a collaboration between Ipsos and HLTH, to benchmark industry awareness, investment, and action on techquity.

This report was presented at the ViVE 2022 Conference and findings from the benchmarking survey will be presented at ViVE 2023.

In the meantime, watch Ipsos' Alexis Anderson highlight why this research is more important than ever.

Ipsos | Webinar | Techquity | Connected Health

In recent years, the healthcare industry has witnessed a significant increase in its adoption of digital tools and technologies. But, ‘health tech’ is currently inequitably distributed amongst the affluent and as health tech expands it risks unintentionally perpetuating long-standing inequities among underserved, marginalized, and vulnerable populations.

As the healthcare and technology industries continue along the path of partnership, it is essential to prioritize matters of health tech equity, of ‘techquity’, and take meaningful action to close the digital divide.

Join us for a complimentary webinar featuring our healthcare experts Alexis Anderson and Eleanor Tait who will introduce the topic of Techquity and share industry findings and recommendations from both an industry and patient perspective. The research, conducted in partnership with the HLTH Foundation, has been designed to uncover barriers to achieving techquity, reveal current industry efforts, establish priorities for collaboration, and highlight the digital health experiences of marginalized patients.
