A new study LinkedIn Sales Solutions partnered with Ipsos on shows sellers who embrace the deep sales approach are more likely to exceed their quota

Washington DC, February 27, 2024—LinkedIn Sales Solutions partnered with market research leader Ipsos to survey over 2,000 sellers and 500 buyers across 15 countries to better understand the value of the deep sales approach — B2B sales best practices — and what it takes to win in this modern era of B2B selling.

Sellers in the study who adopt the deep sales approach are nearly 2x more likely to beat their number versus shallow sellers.  However, only 18% of B2B sellers who were surveyed are deep sellers, or top performers, and nearly half are shallow sellers, or low performers.

Deep sellers surveyed also embrace AI and sale intelligence technologies.  In fact, 75% of B2B salespeople in the study who exceeded their quota used AI.

About Study

Research was conducted by Ipsos from August 11 to September 29, 2023, via a 15-minute device agnostic online survey across 15 countries. Ipsos recruited a sample of 2,187 B2B sellers and 508 buyers from various industries using a mix of B2B expert network and B2B panel samples. Survey development drew from existing Ipsos expertise as well as findings from LinkedIn research. The focus of the study was to define the “deep sales” concept, understand the current state of sales relationships and explore challenges faced by revenue generating professionals.
