The most important problems for Americans
We asked Americans which three of the following topics they find most worrying in their country. In our latest Reuters/Ipsos Core Political wave from June 2023, one in five respondents (22%) feel that the economy is the main issue facing the country.
Is America headed in the right direction?
How do Americans feel about the direction of the country? Public opinion is pessimistic; as of June 2023, 68% of respondents believe the country is on the wrong track.
What Americans care about?
Twice every month, we ask Americans how much they know about a series of in-the-news events, and how much they care about them. Our last Care-o-Meter wave from June 2023 shows that 83% of people say they care about Canadian wildfire smoke more than anything else.
