2016 US Elections - Clinton Now Up 9% Points to Trump’s (June 2)

The economy remains the #1 issue for Americans with Jobs, Healthcare and Terrorism tied for second.

 

Democratic Primary

The national Democratic primary is essentially unchanged among Democratic registered voters in the last weeks of the campaign, currently with Hillary Clinton at 51% vs. Bernie Sanders at 43%.

 

General Election Matchups

The general election race shows a slowly widening lead for the Democrat, with Hillary Clinton now up 9 percentage points at 43% to Donald Trump’s 34% among registered voters:

  • Donald Trump’s favorability numbers have continued to weaken, with his “unfavorable” rating climbing another 2 percentage points to 60%
  • Hillary Clinton has not been immune from the criticism in the last week with her unfavorable rating also climbing 2 percentage points to 54%

 

These are findings from an Ipsos poll conducted for Thomson Reuters May 28-June 1, 2016. For the survey, a sample of 1,615 Americans ages 18+ were interviewed online.
