2017 French Election: Macron and Le Pen still in the lead (April 21)

With only three days until the French Presidential election, Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron lead the field in the latest Ipsos/Sopra Steria poll conducted on behalf of our media partners France Télévisions and Radio France.

24 % of likely voters say they support Emmanuel Macron, followed by Marine Le Pen (22%), François Fillon and Jean-Luc Mélenchon (19% each).

Intention to vote

73% of the interviewees report that they intend to vote in the first round of the election.

First-round

31% of likely voters report that they could still change their mind about who to vote for. 33% of likely voters for Mélenchon and 27% for Macron declared they could still change their mind, whereas Fillon’s and Le Pen’s supporters are more confident in their choices with just 17% and 15% respectively reporting that their choice isn’t definite.

The results are based on a sample of 2,048 registered voters, aged 18+. Interviews were conducted online between April 19 – 20, 2017.
