Global awareness of cyberbullying is increasing, however 1 in 4 adults globally have still never heard of it.

Worldwide, more than two in ten respondents, who are aware of the FIFA World Cup 2018, believe that Germany will take home the Cup. Brazil, Spain and Argentina are also among the favourites. Overall, people have predominantly positive opinions about the games being held in Russia.

87% of the world agrees that the world climate is changing; 80% are concerned about the environmental impact of product waste.

Royal Family has a net positive impact on Britain’s reputation abroad – though half say it makes no difference, and it also reinforces perceptions of Britain as a traditional country. The Queen and Prince Harry are the most liked Royals around the world. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also viewed favourably.

Half of the people around the world think that at present, socialist ideals are of great value for societal progress. Despite this, half of the people also agree that socialism is a system of political oppression, mass surveillance and state terror. Globally, eight in ten people think that the rich should be taxed more to support the poor. Around the world nine in ten people believe that education should be free of charge and that free healthcare is a human right. Nearly seven in ten people globally believe that every resident should have the right to unconditional basic income.

Respondents are most likely to view self-driving cars as making the driving experience more luxurious and comfortable.

If Olympic events won medals themselves, figure skating would of course take the winter gold. Across the world it reigns as the most popular event, according to an Ipsos Global Advisor study of 27 nations.

The latest Ipsos Global @dvisor poll was carried out in 28 countries around the world at the end of 2017. It asked over 21,500 online adults aged under 64 their predictions for 2018.
