Following on from three previous communications surveys, this research — for the HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England) was conducted by self-completion questionnaire among staff who have dealings with the HEFCE in a representative sample of 25 universities, 17 higher education colleges and 29 FE colleges.
Following on from three previous communications surveys, this research -- for the HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England) was conducted by self-completion questionnaire among staff who have dealings with the HEFCE in a representative sample of 25 universities, 17 higher education colleges and 29 FE colleges.
The results show improvement in overall measures of favourability and contact levels since the last survey by MORI in 1999/00. They also highlight key areas for attention, such as clarity of the HEFCE's role.

Technical details
The MORI survey, conducted between December 2002 and January 2003, was the fourth survey into the Council's relationship with the HE sector. Views of staff in 25 universities, 17 higher education colleges and 29 FE colleges were surveyed from all nine English regions.
