Licence fee seen as most preferred source of BBC funding
Latest omnibus research from Ipsos on attitudes to the licence fee as a source of funding for the BBC.
When asked what they would like to see as the main source of BBC funding, 46% of UK adults said a licence fee compared with 26% for subscription and 24% for advertising.
Technical Note
Interviews were conducted by Ipsos on behalf of the BBC using a telephone omnibus approach, among 1,016 adults aged 18+ in the United Kingdom. Fieldwork was conducted between the 12th and 19th of May 2021. Data is weighted to match the profile of the UK population.
