Licence Fee Survey for the BBC Trust
An Ipsos poll carried out on behalf of the BBC Trust gave respondents six possible options for what should happen to the licence fee once current spending on digital switchover is complete. Around half of those asked would prefer the licence fee to be lowered by 1635.50, compared to just six percent who wanted additional money to be spent on regional news on other channels.

Interviews were carried out160face-to-face in respondents' homes and the final survey data have been weighted to reflect the UK population. These findings are based on topline data only - detailed computer tables will be available later this month, along with the full report.
