A MORI poll commissioned by Mediapps shows that nearly half (47%) Internet users would like a search engine customised to their individual needs.

Nearly two thirds of those surveyed agree they waste a great deal of time wading through irrelevant information on the Internet. However, 63% surveyed thought that a filtering system allowing information to be found without being distracted by other links and web sites would help cut down on lengthy ineffective searching. A further two in five (42%) say emails informing them of updates to their favourite Web sites would also be a great help in saving time.

Three quarters (76%) of respondents would find a personalised portal useful to filter relevant information to their desktop.

A growing number of companies are using corporate portals as a tool to pinpoint relevant information on the Internet. IDC stated at the beginning of 2000 that 18% of companies had corporate portals. By the end of the year they forcasted 32% would have implemented such systems.

Mediapps' Net.Portal reduces employee times searching for relevant business information on the intranet, extranet, Internet and subscription-based sources.

Net.Portal empowers employees to make the correct business decision by providing up-to-date news about market issues and competitors as it is published.
