Brazil Pulse - Temer’s Evaluation Continues to be Considered Bad - February 2018
The country is still heading in the wrong direction to 95% of Brazilians, repeating the result of previous months. In Brazil, this decline in confidence was fired off in January 2015 and stabilized at very high levels since then. It seems that this perception will only change with the economic recovery and reduction of uncertainties regarding the electoral scenario.
Evaluation
The President Michel Temer’s evaluation continues to be considered bad or very bad to most of the population. The percentage of negative evaluation rose 2% vis-à-vis the previous month, reaching 85%. There was no improvement in the excellent/good indicator, which continues at the negligible 2%.
Confidence
Consumer confidence has not shown improvement in February, and remained at 77 points. However, employment insecurity dropped for the fourth following month - although Brazil continues with a number of 12.7 million unemployed according to IBGE’s January data -released on 28/02/2018.
