The patient & caregiver experience of living with Alzheimer’s disease
The developmental therapy pipeline for Alzheimer’s disease is rich with potential treatments for disease modification, cognitive enhancement and managing behavioural and neuropsychiatric symptoms.
Whilst this is positive news, the lives of both patients and their caregivers are deeply affected in a multitude of ways at all stages of the disease pathway – necessitating a focus on their additional unmet needs.
In our latest point of view, we use data from Ipsos’ social intelligence platform, Synthesio, to explore the online discussion from Alzheimer’s patients and caregivers at key stages across the disease pathway. We highlight the emotional, mental, logistical and financial hurdles experienced and outline where further support could be offered.
