World AIDS day 2021: “We’re fine with taking medicine… we just want everyone else to be cool with it.”

It's now four decades after the HIV/AIDS epidemic was first recognised medical science has brought an incredibly long way in the fight against this disease . Yet progress around the world has been very uneven, and in parts of Southern Africa, around 20% of the population is HIV positive.

Today, on World AIDS Day, the Ipsos Knowledge Centre catches up with Sunny Sharma – Director Healthcare – who spearheads our work with clients leading the fight against HIV/AIDS in Southern & Eastern Africa.

Having worked at the intersection between public and private health for many years – including the last turbulent 18 months – Sunny has gained unique insights into the challenges and opportunities for People Living With HIV in the region. He shares these with us today, along with his outlook for the future.
