Here’s how people are spending their grocery dollars
The Ipsos Consumer Tracker asks Americans questions about culture, the economy and the forces that shape our lives. Here's one thing we learned this week.

Why we asked about grocery habits: Last wave we looked at the dining out component of our food spending budget. This wave we look instead at grocery purchases.
What we found: Most Americans report spending more on groceries this year and importantly almost no one reports spending less. People say they are buying about as much produce, meat and private label products. However about one in three say they have increased how much produce or private label they’re buying, which could be due to the decrease in eating out that we saw last wave. One in four say they are using coupons more, which makes sense as prices have risen.
