Favorability Towards Energy Sources Among Americans
Over that last few years environmental concerns related to energy production have been heightened in the wake of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident.
Looking at U.S. public views on energy sources specifically, this paper compares 2009 and 2012 results from the Global Energy Barometer study. These findings reveal three notable trends including: renewable energy sources remain those Americans favor most, a decline in favorability towards nuclear energy and an interesting generational shift regarding energy sources.
