Europe East - Primary Consumer Sentiment Index - May 2018
The Thomson Reuters/Ipsos Monthly Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) was released today for the following countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey.
Belgium
The Belgium Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is up 0.5 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is up 3.6 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is up 1.5 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is down 1.8 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is down 1.1 percentage points over last month.
France
The France Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is up 1.5 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is up 3.8 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is up 1.1 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is equal to; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is up 1.2 percentage points over last month.
Germany
The Germany Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is down 2.2 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is down 2.6 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is down 1.9 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is down 2.6 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is down 2.8 percentage points over last month.
Great Britain
The Great Britain Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is up 1.8 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is down 1.7 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is up 2 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is up 3.3 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is up 3.3 percentage points over last month.
Hungary
The Hungary Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is down 7.2 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is down 3.6 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is down 10.4 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is down 6.9 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is down 7.7 percentage points over last month.
Italy
The Italy Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is down 2.2 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is up 0.4 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is down 4 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is down 3.2 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is down 3.2 percentage points over last month.
Poland
The Poland Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is up 4 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is up 3.5 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is up 3.8 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is up 5 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is up 5.4 percentage points over last month.
Russia
The Russia Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is up 2 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is up 4.6 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is down 0.7 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is up 1.8 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is up 2 percentage points over last month.
Spain
The Spain Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is down 2.4 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is down 1.1 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is down 2.9 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is down 3.3 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is down 3.4 percentage points over last month.
Sweden
The Sweden Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is down 2.3 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is down 4.3 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is down 1.5 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is down 1.7 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is down 2.1 percentage points over last month.
Turkey
The Turkey Primary Consumer Sentiment (“Consumer Confidence”) Index (“PCSI”) as measured by the Thomson Reuters/Ipsos PCSI for May,2018 is down 2.7 percentage points over last month.
The monthly PCSI result is driven by the aggregation of the four, weighted, sub-Indices: the PCSI Employment Confidence (“Jobs”) Sub- Index which is down 6.4 points; the PCSI Economic Expectations (“Expectations”) Sub-Index which is down 1.7 points; the PCSI Investment Climate (“Investment”) Sub-Index which is down 0.6 points; and the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions (“Current Conditions”) Sub-Index which is down 1.5 percentage points over last month.
