Pioneering Data Collection: Barb and PAMCo Join Forces

Barb and PAMCo are launching a joint beta trial of shared data collection in October 2024, managed by their data collection partner, Ipsos. This initiative is part of PAMCo’s ongoing review to develop an enhanced measurement system for 2025.

At Ipsos, we are proud to be the trusted partner in trialling a new and collaborative approach to data collection. In October 2024, a groundbreaking collaboration between Barb and PAMCo will launch a pilot phase of shared data collection.

For the past 40 years, Barb's establishment survey and PAMCo's readership survey have been built on similar methodologies, targeting similar audiences with similar questions.

By uniting our goals and pooling resources, this joint initiative is enhancing the efficiency of high-quality face-to-face fieldwork. This pilot, starting with October 2024 fieldwork, means some Barb participants will also be invited to take part in the PAMCo survey.

Adele Bearfield, Head of Data Collection, UK at Ipsos, shared her enthusiasm:

This collaboration reflects our on-going commitment to Audience Measurement, allowing us to explore innovative ways to maintain our high standards of face-to-face interviewing while managing costs effectively.  We are excited to work closely with Barb and PAMCo to deliver trusted and representative samples for both print and broadcasting audience measurement in the UK.
