More Americans say AI tools are being used at work
The Ipsos Consumer Tracker, fielded on Ipsos' Omnibus platform, asks Americans questions about culture, the economy and the forces that shape our lives. Here's one thing we learned this week.
Why we asked about AI tool at work: As we get ready for the June 2 release of the latest Ipsos Global AI Monitor, we wanted to check in on if people see AI being used in the workplace.
What we found: Between 2024 and 2025, the levels of people seeing AI tools in their workplaces were fairly flat. This year, we see growth again.
Partially, the tools just keep getting better. But partially, we’ve gone from the top uses of AI being a toy, to the top uses being a tool, according to a study Ipsos conducted for Google over the last few years called Our Life with AI. In that research we see that the top uses of AI tools are know about work and research.
Now, more workers are seeing more tools used for more things. Many more workers (50% vs 38%) are seeing ChatGPT or similar tools used in their workplaces. One in three see AI image generators, up from one in four in 2025. And tools for data analysis are up to 41% from 32%.
