Global Citizens Feel More Vulnerable Than They Did One Year Ago
Sense of Vulnerability Fueled by Two of Eight Threats in 2014: Armed Conflict and Major Health Epidemic
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada - A survey of citizens in 23 countries reveals that they feel more vulnerable today than they did a year ago - not much more, but differently.
And not surprisingly perhaps, given global concerns about Ebola and the global engagement of many countries in the Middle East with the Islamic State in Syria and Levant ("ISIL"), that vulnerability is being fueled by two out of eight threats that have been measured since 2010--a potential armed conflict and a major health epidemic.
The poll, conducted by global market and opinion research firm Ipsos for the Halifax International Security Forum taking place in Halifax, Canada from November 21 to 23, 2014.
