A New World Disorder?

Navigating a polycrisis

Welcome to Ipsos Global Trends. This programme, which has been running since 2013, provides the evidence and data needed to inform decisions across a range of plausible future scenarios.

In February 2023 we launched our last major publication which highlighted a ‘new world disorder.’ We were no longer able to afford to focus on the big issue at hand, because many interrelated issues were at play. We had emerged from a global pandemic only to find ourselves immersed in a looming financial crisis, a climate crisis, wars and conflicts – which were causing further crises – and long-standing inequalities were blooming into geopolitical crises around the world.

This Microsite details our full trends framework launched in February 2023, alongside commentary about what this means for governments, businesses, and organisations. You can also find our archive of reports back to 2013.

However, as 2023 draws to a close, and the polycrisis grinds on we have launched a short update, which shows signs that crises are causing people to retreat and focus more inwardly on themselves and their world rather than on the broader problems swirling around them.
