The study, conducted in collaboration with Ipsos, aims to identify mental health and well-being issues around the world in order to develop solutions to alleviate them. Ipsos surveyed 17,000 people from 16 countries across Europe, the United States and Asia.

    2025 International Women's Day 30-country Survey

    Ipsos NZ releases localised findings of a new 30-country study for the 2025 International Women's Day. More than half of New Zealanders think things would work better if more women held positions of responsibility - 57% of New Zealanders agree that things would work better if more women held positions with responsibility in government and companies. Additionally, 42% New Zealanders also define themselves as a feminist. This is significantly higher than the 30-country global average* (38%).

The survey was conducted in New Zealand for the first time in 2023 and this year, it includes a sample of n=1,000 New Zealanders. Fieldwork was conducted between 26 July and 9 August 2024.

    Wellington, 22 November 2023 – Significantly more New Zealanders now believe the current healthcare system treats mental health as being equally important as physical health. The proportion who believe physical health is treated as more important was 43%, significantly down from 59% in 2022. This puts New Zealand on par with the global country average.
