    HEFCE's Staff And Stakeholder Surveys

    A MORI survey for HEFCE (the Higher Education Funding Council for England) finds that 82% of its main stakeholders, other than higher education institutions and further education colleges, have a favourable view of the Council. Three-quarters of non-HEI stakeholders (74%) rate HEFCE as above average compared with other higher education bodies, and 64% think their current relationship with HEFCE is better than three years ago.

    Public Knowledge Of Online Threats

    The UK public is largely ignorant of the threats they face on the Internet, according to recent research conducted by MORI on behalf of StreamShield. Just 16% of the public has heard of the term 'key loggers' — malicious programs that record confidential password details — and only 24% had heard of the term 'phishing' — bogus emails purporting to be from one's bank asking for account information, with the intention of stealing funds.

    Two In Five GPs Say They Lack Information About Fertility Services

    Recent MORI research shows that two in five (40%) GPs say they do not have enough information about fertility treatment clinics. The most significant factor influencing a GPs decision to refer patients is local knowledge of the clinic, mentioned by two in three GPs (60%). Surprisingly, only two in five GPs (39%) consider a clinic's success rate when making a referral decision, with even fewer (26%) considering recommendations from their Primary Care Trust (PCT).
