Economist/Ipsos December 2011 Issues Index
The December Economist/Ipsos Issues index shows that a third of the public (33%) place unemployment amongst the most important issues facing the country, a one percentage point increase since November. Concern has been steadily increasing recently and this is now the highest percentage to mention this issue since November 1998.

Two in three (67%) British adults would like to see a referendum held to decide on Britain membership of the European Union - only a quarter (26%) would not like to see such a referendum.
When it comes to voting in the referendum the public are fairly split, half say they would vote to get out of the European Union while two in five would vote for Britain to stay in the EU. -
