End Of Year Review 2006
Ipsos end of year review covering the main political issues of 2006. This was the year when the government struggled on with public service reform, but hit new lows in terms of public confidence in the NHS (despite levels of satisfaction with actual treatments remaining higher than before). New research from Gardeners' World magazine exposes the nation's lack of knowledge of British food seasonality. The magazine asked over 1,000 adults when a range of ten quintessential British fruits or vegetables came into season, but worryingly discovered that on average 63% of respondents didn't have a clue.

MORI conducted a survey for King's College London on how Londoners were affected by the bombings on 7th July. The survey aimed to inform the advice and help given to people, should this happens again. The results of the survey were analysed and reported in the British Medical Journal in August 2005.

Corporate Security
IT and network security are the greatest security concerns for members of the CBI, according to new research from MORI. The research, jointly commissioned by CBI and QinetiQ, shows a large majority (97%) of members have either great or some concern about the overall security of their business. Almost three in five (58%) say IT and network security is a great concern, while two in five name 'Provision of standby facilities for business continuity purposes' (41%), 'Risk to brand value of security incidents' (40%) and 'Risk to employees of security incidents' (38%).

British Sleeping Behaviour
Almost half of people aged 35-44 in Britain (48%) feel they do not get enough sleep, according to new research from MORI into sleeping behaviour. The research, released as part of the Demos report Dream On, written by Charles Leadbeater, shows more people in this age group say they do not get enough sleep compared to the general population (39%).
