    Glasgow Panel Survey VII

    Ipsos Scotland was commissioned by Glasgow City Council to conduct a series of eight large scale residents surveys in twice yearly waves. Each survey doubles as a recruitment exercise for the Glasgow Citizens Panel. The seventh survey in the series was completed in December 2006 and covered a range of topics including community engagement and citizenship, usage of and satisfaction with Council services, neighbourhood problems, the Glasgow Magazine and attitudes towards Young Scot / Kidz cards.

    Political Commentary - Sleaze And Political Parties

    According to our poll conducted for The Sun last weekend [Attitudes Towards Sleaze], a quarter of the public now think that the present government is "more sleazy" than the Conservative government under John Major which preceded it; only 14% think the Major government was more sleazy. This is a question we have asked several times over the years [Sleaze Trend], but this is the first time that those who think the Blair government is the sleazier have outnumbered those who think the Major government is worse.

    Ipsos's first Political Monitor of 2007 shows the Conservatives leading Labour by 4 points (39% vs 35%). This puts the Tory share significantly higher than it was during most of the Autumn, and represents a swing of 3.5% from Labour since the 2005 general election.

    The English Are In Favour Of A National Day Of Celebration On St George's Day

    Findings from an Ipsos survey commissioned by the Chairman and National Organiser of the St George's Day Celebrations, Bruno Peek show that the English public are keen to celebrate St George's Day on April 23 with a national day of celebration. Three-quarters (74%) of us think it's a good idea and seven in ten (72%) are keen for the day to be made into a bank holiday. Three charities: RNID, the charity for deaf and hard of hearing people, AICR and RVS are benefiting from the money raised by the celebrations.
