    Attitudes To Irish Language Radio Programming

    A quarter of radio listeners in Ireland (25%) listen to Irish language radio on at least an occasional basis, according to new research from MORI Ireland. The project was published by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland and co-sponsored by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and Foras na Gaeilge, the Irish language advocacy organisation.

    Annual London Survey 2004

    The 2004 Annual London Survey carried out by MORI for the GLA shows that Londoners are generally positive about life in the Capital. There is good news on the environment, where litter, noise and air quality are seen to be less of a problem than a year ago and over the past five years. Three people in four say they are satisfied, with only about one in 10 (11%) dissatisfied.

    Government Delivery Index

    MORI's latest Delivery Index survey, conducted for the Financial Times, shows that the public remain divided over whether the Government's policies will improve the state of the economy. The public also remain sceptical about the Government's ability to improve public service in the long term, although trends on both these areas have improved since 2003.

    Labour's first post-war Prime Minister, Clement Attlee, has been voted as the most successful British Prime Minister in the 20th century, according to a survey conducted by MORI and the University of Leeds among academics specialising in 20th century British history and politics.

    The 2004 Holiday Survey conducted by MORI for ABTA has found that the internet is now firmly established as a booking tool for holidays. One in five (19%) holidaymakers now book their package holiday online — six times the number that were doing so in the year 2000.

    Corporate Security

    IT and network security are the greatest security concerns for members of the CBI, according to new research from MORI. The research, jointly commissioned by CBI and QinetiQ, shows a large majority (97%) of members have either great or some concern about the overall security of their business. Almost three in five (58%) say IT and network security is a great concern, while two in five name 'Provision of standby facilities for business continuity purposes' (41%), 'Risk to brand value of security incidents' (40%) and 'Risk to employees of security incidents' (38%).

    Local Partnerships Tackling Drug Mis-use

    MORI's research for the Audit Commission reviews perceptions of stakeholders regarding the importance of tackling drug use via local partnerships, and the factors which affect the success of such partnerships. The project was conducted with 180 Director-level Drug Action Team (DAT)/Partnership representatives (or equivalent) from a range of Local Authorities, Police Basic Command Units, Primary Care Trusts and Local Health Boards throughout England and Wales.
