Please join Ipsos to hear more about The Cognitive Mechanisms of Believing Misinformation across Life Stages and Cultures on March 20 | 9:15am.

Fake news spreads fast on social media because of how people share information. Ipsos’ Steeven Ye will talk about an extensive study with over 8,000 people from different countries (US, UK, France, India) to see how well they can tell real news from fake news from young to old age.

The study is the first to examine how this ability changes with age and in different cultures. One of the findings is that people's ability to know what's true and what's not can differ depending on their culture and age.

What the audience can learn:

  • Analyze cultural impact on decision-making to predict consumer reactions better
  • Explore psychological factors of judging truth in different medias
  • Utilize emotional and rational dynamics to gain insights into consumer behavior
